Kite surfing: Watergate Bay Wind Direction: NNW Wind Stength: 15 knots Surf / Sea State: 2 ft clean Air Temperature: 18C Sea Temperature: nice Weather: Sunshine!!! Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Went into Newquay in the morning to look at the new apartment and collect
some fins for my surf board. The sea was begninning to White cap so I was
desperate to get back and onto the water.
Got onto the beach just after 1PM and walked to the far North end of the
beach as I knew there wasn't quite enough wind for my 9m and twin tip so a
bit of a downwinder at first.
The wind then died further so I opted for the surfboard again and went out
to sea with that. Had a few runs but still underpowered with the 9m and
then it suddenly deflated once again. By this point, I was getting pretty
pissed off with the Trix so I pumped it up to see where the deflation was
and once again on the joint linking the end struts pipe to the main bladder
had failed. Grrrr.
Abandoned the kite and then went out on the C02 for an hour or so before
the wind completely died.
The wind was backing more onshore to the West so each tack was getting near
the surfers so the Lifeguards were doing there usual annoying ranting by
telling us to stay away from all the surfee's. There were quite a few
kitesurfers out again, think I counted 13 and Andreya Wharry was out on her
Flexifoil Ion and what looked like a standard 6' surf board. She looked
pretty shit hot to be fair in the light conditions.
Saw Gemma on the beach teaching her pupils as well.
